Wuhan Data Center Indirect Evaporative Cooling Tower Project

Project Overview

This project is the largest and most functionally comprehensive communication hub and core computing power node of a leading domestic telecommunications operator in Central South China. It has a total construction area of 55,082 square meters, with four floors above ground and a total height of 23.8 meters. As a new type of digital infrastructure deeply integrated with communication networks and cloud computing, this center serves as the core physical carrier for the stable operation of information systems across various industries. By aggregating diverse data resources, applying green and low-carbon technologies, and building a highly reliable security protection system, it effectively drives the agglomeration and development of emerging industries such as healthcare, transportation and logistics, industrial internet, intelligent manufacturing, and cloud computing, providing solid computing power support for the digital transformation of thousands of industries.

Operation Mode

This project adopts one set of Aolan indirect evaporative cooling chillers. During hot and humid summer conditions, the indirect evaporative cooling chiller operates as a cooling tower, providing cooling water for water-cooled chillers. In transitional seasons (spring and autumn) and winter, the indirect evaporative chiller directly serves as a cooling source, supplying chilled water to the terminals, thereby achieving energy savings and consumption reduction for the overall system.

Project Significance

The successful implementation of this Wuhan data center project marks another successful validation of Aolan's indirect evaporative cooling technology in a large-scale data center scenario within the high-humidity region of Central China. It not only delivers an efficient, low-carbon, and reliable refrigeration system for the customer but also provides a replicable and scalable benchmark model for green upgrades and transformations of data centers in similar regions across the country. Looking ahead, Aolan will continue to deepen its focus on the temperature control field of digital infrastructure, leveraging more mature low-carbon cooling technologies to empower the green and high-quality development of computing power infrastructure nationwide.
