Ventilation and Cooling Project for a Blow Molding Workshop of a Daily Use Cleaning Products Plant in Guangdong

Project Overview

The project is located in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. The building is primarily a concrete structure, with the blow molding workshop for daily use cleaning products situated on the top floor. This workshop has a floor height of 6 meters and covers an area of approximately 7,000 square meters. Due to the significant heat generated by operational equipment, the environment in the injection and blow molding workshop became hot, stuffy, and accumulated unpleasant odors. Prolonged exposure to such conditions easily caused physical discomfort among employees, subsequently affecting production efficiency. During the production process, the preform heating and softening stage released substantial heat, causing temperatures in certain workshop areas to reach up to 45°C and leading to the accumulation of pungent odors in the air. Compounding this, the large planar span of the workshop resulted in low air circulation efficiency. These factors posed significant challenges to workers' physical and mental health over the long term.

Solution Applied

To improve the working environment in the workshop, the design utilized a total of 30 units of Aolan's WindFly series evaporative air coolers. The total designed air volume is 600,000 cubic meters per hour, ensuring an air exchange rate of 15-20 times per hour for the workshop. The units were arranged in 5 groups of 6 units each, evenly distributed on the rooftop. Ductwork was introduced into the interior through openings in the roof, with multi-directional mushroom-type air outlet diffusers installed at the bottom. These outlets were mounted at a height of 4 meters to achieve comprehensive and uniform air distribution across the areas. Simultaneously, natural ventilation through windows and doors was utilized to ensure air circulation in the cooled zones met comfort standards, fulfilling the client's cooling requirements.

Results Demonstrated

The project commenced operation in May 2024. After commissioning, the equipment has been functioning well. Prior to the system's implementation, summer workshop temperatures reached approximately 40°C. Following installation, the average ambient temperature in the workshop was reduced to around 30°C, demonstrating a significant improvement in the environmental conditions.
